The “Dustlik-7” joint military exercise between Uzbekistan and India has started in Namangan.

Modern.az reports that the press service of the Indian Ministry of Defense issued a statement about this.

It was noted that this year's exercise is being held at the Qurumsaray training ground and will continue until April 25. The exercise is held annually alternately between India and Uzbekistan. The previous exercise took place last April at the Foreign Training Center in Aundh (Pune, India-ed).

This year, approximately 60 Indian servicemen are participating in the exercise, including 45 soldiers from the infantry battalion of the Mahar Regiment and 15 representatives of the Indian Air Force. A similar number of soldiers from the ground forces and air forces of Uzbekistan are also participating in the exercises.

The purpose of the exercise is to develop military cooperation and increase joint capabilities to conduct operations in semi-mountainous areas. Special attention will be focused on physical fitness, joint planning, tactical operations, and basic skills in the use of special weapons. It is also planned to develop a unified algorithm for interaction between the command and control structures of both sides during the planning and conduct of joint operations.

Key elements include terrain navigation, conducting strike operations against enemy bases, and capturing areas under its control. The Indian side will get acquainted with the procedures and tactics of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and will also share its experience.

The final stage will be a 48-hour final exercise focused on the application of tactical actions within the framework of joint operations, including the preparation and conduct of special operations to neutralize illegal armed groups.
