In Great Britain, opposition parties have demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Modern.az reports, citing British media, that the reason for this was the appointment of Peter Mandelson, who had close ties with Jeffrey Epstein, as ambassador to the USA.

Kemi Badenoch, leader of the Conservative Party, reacted harshly to Starmer's claim that he was unaware of the report.

She stated that if the Prime Minister was not informed about this, it indicates his incompetence:

“If he says he didn't know, it shows he is incompetent. This means he should not be running the government. If the Prime Minister doesn't know what's going on in his office, he shouldn't be leading our economy, our energy, our defense, and other areas, and he should go.”

Ed Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrats, the second largest opposition force in Parliament, also took a strong stance on the issue. He shared a post on the social media platform "X", noting that if the Prime Minister has misled Parliament and the public, then he should resign from his post.

Davey added that Starmer's appointment of Mandelson as the UK's ambassador to Washington was a serious mistake, and this decision appears even more problematic in light of the failure to consider the security clearance report.

Opposition representatives believe that this step by the government raises serious questions about the country's approach to security issues.
