Famous Soviet and Belarusian director Vyacheslav Nikiforov has died at the age of 83.
Modern.az reports that this was announced by the press service of the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers.
Belarus' Ministry of Culture noted that he worked for many years at the “Belarusfilm” studio and on Russian-produced films. During his career, Vyacheslav Nikiforov directed approximately 30 films and TV series, including "State Border", "Kingfisher", "Fathers and Sons" and "Noble Robber Vladimir Dubrovsky".
In 2022, the director was awarded a special prize by the President of Belarus for his contribution to the preservation of moral traditions in cinema.
