The US has deployed a Ukrainian-made anti-drone defense system at the "Prince Sultan Air Base" in Saudi Arabia.

Modern.az reports, citing five informed sources from Reuters, that the system in question is Ukraine's "Sky Map" platform. According to the information, Ukrainian military specialists have arrived at the base to train US military personnel on this system.

It is stated that the "Sky Map" system is widely used by the Ukrainian army and is considered particularly effective in detecting and neutralizing Iranian-made "Shahed" type unmanned aerial vehicles. The system also creates counter-attack capabilities through interceptor drones.

According to reports, the air base, located approximately 400 miles from Iran, has been subjected to a series of attacks since the war began. These attacks resulted in the destruction of an early warning aircraft, damage to several fuel tankers, and damage to some radar facilities.

Currently, the base's defense uses various US systems, including interceptor drones.

Experts believe that the application of Ukrainian technologies at the US base indicates the existence of certain gaps in Washington's air and missile defense systems.

Timothy Walton, an expert at the Hudson Institute, stated that gaps in US defense systems have been known for a long time but have not been fully eliminated.

It should be noted that the White House and the Pentagon refused to comment on the matter.

It is worth recalling that previously, US President Donald Trump stated that there was no need for Ukraine's help in combating unmanned aerial vehicles.
