On April 23, the Finnish government submitted a legislative initiative to the parliament regarding allowing the import, transportation, and storage of nuclear weapons on the country's territory.
Modern.az reports that the Ministry of Defense stated that the proposal envisages amendments to the “Atomic Energy Act” and the Criminal Code. It was noted that this step could be applied in defense-related situations, especially in the context of cooperation within NATO.
According to the proposal, the import and storage of nuclear weapons in the country will only be possible within the framework of military needs.
At the same time, unusual sky phenomena observed recently in the country, especially images related to the traces of a rocket launched from Russia's Plesetsk cosmodrome, are also noted as one of the factors increasing public concern.
