Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in St. Petersburg.
Modern.az reports with reference to the Russian media that a message from Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was delivered to Putin at the meeting.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, as well as the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Igor Kostyukov participated in the meeting held in the Petrovsky Hall of the Yeltsin Presidential Library.
At the meeting, Putin stated that Moscow intends to continue developing strategic relations with Tehran.
"Therefore (due to the message sent by Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei), I ask you to convey my most sincere thanks and I want to confirm that Russia, like Iran, intends to continue our strategic relations," the Russian leader noted during the meeting with Abbas Araqchi.
