Countries involved in the US and Israeli attack against Iran must be held accountable.
Modern.az reports that Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), Amir Saeid Iravani, stated this in a letter sent to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council.
In his letter, Iravani noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly rejects all baseless accusations and unsubstantiated claims contained in the letters sent by Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the Kingdom of Jordan.
Iran's ambassador to the UN emphasized that the claims of the mentioned countries regarding their "exercise of the right to self-defense" cannot be accepted as legal and justified self-defense. Iravani stated that these actions are not considered self-defense within the framework of Article 51 of the UN Charter, but rather acts contrary to international law.
Iravani added that these actions are evaluated as an "act of aggression" according to Article 3 (b) of Resolution 3314 of the UN General Assembly dated December 14, 1974. Therefore, it was stated that the mentioned states bear responsibility under international law.
