The US military has announced the launch of "Operation Freedom" to restore movement in the Strait of Hormuz.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that this is not a military operation against Iran or armed escorts. It is intended for naval and air forces to assist ships wishing to exit the Gulf independently through the Strait of Hormuz.
The deployment of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers, more than 100 aircraft, drones, and 15,000 troops has been announced.
Iran has already stated its readiness to attack any ship that violates the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
