The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the Gulf countries not to entrust their security to powers outside the region.
Modern.az reports that this call was made by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagayi.
He emphasized that the US military presence in the region only acts as a source of instability, and this puts the countries hosting its military bases at risk.
Ismail Bagayi, recalling Tehran's long-term position, stated that real and lasting security in the Persian Gulf can only be ensured through cooperation among the countries of the region and without foreign interference.
He noted that Washington's military bases have repeatedly exposed host countries to unnecessary risks.
The Foreign Ministry official called on neighboring countries for constructive dialogue and the creation of common regional security mechanisms, emphasizing that Iran has no hostility with the Arab countries of the Gulf and is fully committed to building mutually beneficial relations.
Bagayi also noted about Iran-US talks that Iran is negotiating “in an atmosphere of serious distrust and suspicion towards the US.”
He added that Iran's current priority is clear: “Currently, we have decided to focus on ending the war, because this issue is a concern for all regions, our people, and the international community.”
Bagayi emphasized that if the Americans are truly serious about diplomacy, they should take advantage of this opportunity, because the whole world expects them to at least show good intentions.
The spokesman warned that the international community will see the US as the party responsible for the consequences of the war it started against Iran and the region, because everyone knows that this is a war chosen by the US government.
