Volodin threatened Armenia over Pashinyan's Western course.
Modern.az reports that Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin stated that events in Armenia are linked to the start of Euromaidan in Ukraine.
According to him, on the eve of May 9 Victory Day, a summit of the European Political Community was held in Yerevan, attended by guests of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Among them, as Volodin noted, was Vladimir Zelensky, who came at the personal invitation of the Armenian Prime Minister.
The Chairman of the State Duma called this step hostile towards Russia, Russian citizens, and the Armenian people themselves. He emphasized that the issue is not interference in Armenia's internal affairs, but a matter of morality and political etiquette.
Volodin also recalled that Russia has traditionally maintained close relations with the Armenian people, and Armenians living in Russia have equal rights, hold state positions, and are elected as members of parliament.
Against this background, he stated how relations between Moscow and Yerevan would develop after Pashinyan's actions.
"Inevitably, a parallel arises: everything started exactly like this in Ukraine. Do ordinary citizens of Armenia need this?" Volodin asked.
