Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he made a secret visit to the United Arab Emirates during the days of war with Iran and held a meeting with the country's president, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Modern.az reports that “The Times of Israel” published this information. However, UAE officials denied the disseminated information.
A statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's office said that the meeting contributed to a “historic breakthrough” in relations between Israel and the UAE.
According to the information, the heads of Israel's two main intelligence services also made secret visits to the country to strengthen the UAE's defense and offensive capabilities against Iran's missile and drone threats.
According to sources, Netanyahu and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met on March 26 in Al Ain, near the Omani border. The meeting reportedly lasted several hours.
However, the United Arab Emirates officially denied this information, calling it “unfounded.”
A statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the WAM agency stated that the country's relations with Israel are public and established within the framework of the officially announced “Abraham Accords.”
“Therefore, claims about any secret visit or unofficial agreement not officially announced by the UAE authorities are completely unfounded,” the statement emphasized.
