US President Donald Trump said that if Iran does not agree to a peace deal, Washington is ready to continue attacks against Tehran. However, Trump said he was ready to wait a few more days to "get the right answers."
Modern.az reports that Trump, speaking to reporters, said that the situation was "critical" and could escalate rapidly.
"Believe me, if we don't get the right answers, it will end very quickly. We are all ready for action," he said at Joint Base Andrews.
When asked how long he would wait, the US president said it "could take a few days," but at the same time, it could end very quickly.
Tehran, in turn, warned the US not to restart attacks.
"If aggression against Iran is repeated, the promised regional war will this time cross the borders of the region," the statement of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said.
Iran has also created a new "Persian Gulf Administration" to control traffic in the strategically important waterway such as the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump reiterated his firm stance that they would not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.
"We are in the final stage on the Iran issue. Let's see what happens. Either we will reach an agreement, or we will take some unpleasant steps, but I hope that will not be necessary," the White House chief told reporters.
"Ideally, I would like as few people to die as possible, not many. We can do that in any case," he added.
