President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev congratulated President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Uzbekistan's Independence Day.
Modern.az reports that the congratulatory letter states:

I am pleased to sincerely congratulate you and, through you, your brotherly people on behalf of myself and the people of Azerbaijan on the remarkable anniversary - the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and to convey my best wishes.
During the period since gaining independence, brotherly Uzbekistan has achieved great success, passing through a path of comprehensive and dynamic development, gaining high prestige and respect in the international arena and the region. Thanks to your wise leadership and strategic vision, large-scale reforms and construction works have been successfully implemented in all areas in your country, economic progress has been achieved, and the social welfare of the population has been ensured.
The great trust and support of your people for your tireless work and resolute state policy lie at the foundation of Uzbekistan's achievement of its goals and objectives, and all its successes. As a brotherly country and ally, we consider every success of Uzbekistan as our own success and are proud of it. Every time I visit your unique and hospitable country, I witness the significant achievements of Uzbekistan. I recall with the most pleasant impressions my recent state visit to the brotherly country and our meeting with you.
Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations, built on common historical and cultural ties, unbreakable friendship and brotherhood, are at their highest peak today. Further comprehensive development and deepening of our bilateral relations with Uzbekistan is one of our priority issues.
