Lebanese Army Commander Rudolf Heykal has left for Pakistan at the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart, Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Modern.az reports that "Al Jazeera" spread information about this.

The visit may be related to changes in the situation in the Middle East against the background of agreements reached between Lebanon and Israel. Pakistan continues to act as a mediator in negotiations between the US and Israel on stopping the war in Iran, one of the controversial points of which is Israel's attacks on Lebanon.

Earlier, Ali Akbar Velayati, an adviser to Iran's supreme leader, emphasized that the new balance of forces will not be built at the expense of resistance, referring to Lebanon's participation in negotiations with Israel.

"Diplomatic illusions are expensive, and lasting peace arises not from empty promises, but only from the balance of forces," the Iranian politician noted.
