The Hungarian parliament has approved a decision to massively reduce the salaries of the prime minister, ministers, parliamentary leadership, and deputies.

According to published official data, the monthly income of the country's Prime Minister Peter Magyar has been reduced by more than 50 percent, from 7.8 million to 3.8 million forints (approximately from 36 thousand manats to 17 thousand 500 manats).
According to the decision, the monthly salaries of government members, faction leaders in parliament, and deputies have also been cut. An average reduction of about 40 percent will be applied to their salaries.
