The number of people infected with cholera in northeastern Nigeria has reached 7,850, with 74 deaths recorded since the wave of infections began in May.
Modern.az reports, citing "Reuters" and "Doctors Without Borders".
This wave of infection in the country is considered a health emergency. Therefore, all possible measures are being taken both locally and internationally to prevent the further spread of the epidemic.
Currently, the epicenter of the disease is Maiduguri, the administrative center of Borno State, and more than half of the recorded infections are in this city. In total, the disease has affected 36 districts.
As of June 3, Borno State authorities reported 4,204 infections and 39 deaths from cholera.
