Applications for citizenship of the Republic of Armenia from Armenians displaced from Karabakh have increased.
Modern.az reports with reference to Armenian media that this was stated by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Mkrtchyan at a joint meeting of several parliamentary committees.
He stated that since January 1 of this year, Armenians displaced from Karabakh have become active in applying for citizenship of the Republic of Armenia. According to data as of the beginning of June, their number was 11,146, and the number of minors was 28,000, of whom approximately 12,000 received citizenship of the Republic of Armenia,” Armen Mkrtchyan said.
