The British government has announced that it will recognize Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a threat to national security.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that according to the new law, supporting the IRGC, assisting its activities or obtaining material benefits from this organization will be considered a crime. Persons found guilty of these acts may face life imprisonment.
The British government has also announced that a group called the "Islamic Movement of Companions of the Right," which is reportedly linked to Iran, will also be banned. According to official information, the group is linked to seven attacks committed against Jewish and Israeli communities in the UK.
The decision will be implemented within the framework of a new law adopted to combat threats supported by foreign states. This law gives the Minister of Internal Affairs the authority to recognize organizations linked to foreign states as a "foreign power threat."
