Iran announced that it attacked US military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Jordan in response to new strikes by the US on the country's southern coast.
Modern.az reports with reference to “Aljazeera” that tensions around the Strait of Hormuz have further increased against the background of US strikes on Iran. Explosions are reported to have occurred in the port cities of Bandar-Abbas, Sirik, Jask, as well as on Qeshm Island.
The events occurred one day after the US army announced that it hit at least 140 targets in Iran, and Iran responded by launching retaliatory strikes on US facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Jordan.
Although US President Donald Trump stated that the Strait of Hormuz is "open", Iran's Persian Gulf Ports Administration announced that maritime traffic will not be allowed until stability and security are fully restored in the region.
