Belgian car designer Pierre Leclerc has received Russian citizenship.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that this was stated in the decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Pierre Leclerc is one of the well-known designers in the automotive industry. He once worked at “BMW” and participated in the design of BMW X5 and BMW X6 models.
Leclerc, who headed the design department at China's “Great Wall Motors” concern in 2013–2017, led a number of projects during this period, including Haval H6. Later, he worked at “Kia Motors” and currently serves as the head of the design department at France's “Citroen” company.
The reason for the designer receiving Russian citizenship has not been disclosed.
