Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly sent a special purpose control aircraft to Tehran amid renewed confrontation between the US and Iran.

Modern.az reports that this was noted in Flightradar24 data.

According to the information, a Tu-214PU type aircraft, intended for the highest Russian leadership, made a flight from Moscow's Vnukovo airport to Tehran. The aircraft with registration number RA-64531 is considered one of the most protected air control vehicles operated by the "Rossiya" special flight detachment, which serves the Presidential Administration.

It is noted that the Tu-214PU (meaning "control point") is equipped with data transmission systems, closed strategic communication channels, and equipment that ensures the coordination of government and military operations in crisis situations.

The aircraft is capable of providing uninterrupted control even in high-threat conditions. For this very reason, it is called Russia's "Doomsday Plane," likened to the analogous aircraft used by the US president.
