A technical malfunction occurred on the plane of the President of the Republic of South Africa (CAR), Cyril Ramaphosa, during the flight.
Modern.az reports with reference to the "News24" news portal that S. Ramaphosa took off from the "Waterkloof" Air Force base near the capital Pretoria on the morning of July 16. The plane was heading to the city of Durban in the southeast of the country. There, the head of state was supposed to participate in the opening ceremony of "Toyota" company's new production line. However, during the flight, an unspecified technical malfunction occurred on the plane.
Vincent Magwenya, the official representative of the President of the CAR, said the following about the incident: "There was a technical problem with our plane. We had to turn back and land at the base."
No one was injured as a result of the incident. Later, S. Ramaphosa had to speak at the event in Durban in an online format.
