Oğuzhan Uğur, a well-known Turkish presenter, social media phenomenon, and head of the Babala TV platform, has been detained.
Modern.az reports, citing Turkish media, that he was taken into custody and then subjected to an investigation.
No official statement has yet been made regarding the reason for the detention order or the scope of the investigation. Local media writes that Oğuzhan Uğur's detention was carried out within the framework of an investigation related to the AHBAP association.
It should be noted that previously, news had spread about the detention of Haluk Levent, the head of the AHBAP association, singer, and philanthropist.
After those reports, Oğuzhan Uğur made a post on his social media account, giving a statement about his activities.
He stated that he is neither an association nor a foundation head and therefore does not have the authority to collect donations:
"I am not an association or a foundation. Therefore, I cannot collect money or accept donations. All the aid I have provided to date has been from my own funds. Even having to write this bothers me. But when I don't write it, different interpretations emerge."
In his post, Oğuzhan Uğur also emphasized his concern about the deepening crisis of trust in society:
"This nation has built a fortress of disappointments over the years. The concept of trust has almost become a nostalgic notion. I hope that these reports do not add another stone to that fortress and do not distance us further from the feeling of trust."
