Araik Arutyunyan, Chief of Staff of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, has faced serious accusations within the government.
Modern.az reports that, according to information disseminated by the Armenian media, immediately after the parliamentary elections held on June 7, Taron Chakhoyan, Araik Arutyunyan's deputy, known as the government's main "black PR specialist," submitted a detailed report to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The report severely criticized the activities of the election headquarters of the ruling "Civil Contract" Party, and all responsibility was placed on Araik Arutyunyan, the chief of staff.
According to allegations, Arutyunyan failed to mobilize voters, could not effectively organize the campaign, and created conditions for the embezzlement of funds allocated for the elections.
Another notable point in the letter concerns the counting of election votes. Chakhoyan accused Arutyunyan of not properly preparing the "crisis scenario." Armenian media writes that this phrase actually refers to the alleged process of falsification of election results that occurred on the night of June 8. The long-term interruptions in the activities of the Central Election Commission that night are also linked to these claims.
According to information, Taron Chakhoyan's main goal is to take Araik Arutyunyan's position. According to claims published in the Armenian media, Araik Arutyunyan has already submitted his resignation. This information has not yet been officially confirmed.
