Former Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, has renounced his parliamentary mandate.

Modern.az reports with reference to Armenian media that the "Joxovurd" newspaper published this information.

According to the publication, Hayrapetyan, who was 36th on the election list of the ruling "Civil Contract" Party, submitted an application to the Central Election Commission regarding his renunciation of the parliamentary mandate.

According to the source, not only Hayrapetyan, but also members of the team working in the ministry he led, including deputy ministers, are writing resignation letters.

According to the newspaper, the claims that Mkhitar Hayrapetyan will be a candidate for the president of the Football Federation of Armenia have not yet been clarified. It is reported that the presidential elections for the federation are planned to be held in the spring of next year.
