The foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan sharply increased in 2025.
According to information obtained by Modern.az from the State Statistics Committee, the volume of trade turnover between the two countries last year amounted to 795 million 159.7 thousand US dollars.
This indicator was 252 million 57.5 thousand dollars in 2024. Thus, the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan trade turnover increased by more than 3 times, or approximately 543.1 million dollars, within one year.
For comparison, the trade turnover between the two countries was 111.9 million dollars in 2021, 183.3 million dollars in 2022, and 178.8 million dollars in 2023. When comparing the indicators of five years, it is seen that the trade turnover in 2025 increased by more than 7 times compared to 2021.
The specific weight of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan's total foreign trade turnover has also significantly increased. While this indicator was 0.3 percent in 2021-2023, it reached 0.5 percent in 2024, and 1.6 percent in 2025.
As a result, Uzbekistan rose from 31st place in 2024 to 14th place in 2025 among Azerbaijan's main trade partners.
An increase was also recorded in Azerbaijan's exports to Uzbekistan. In 2025, products worth 76 million 149.4 thousand dollars were exported to this country. In 2024, the volume of exports was 40 million 340.8 thousand dollars. Thus, exports to Uzbekistan increased by approximately 89 percent within one year.
In 2021, Azerbaijan's exports to Uzbekistan amounted to 33.5 million dollars, 46.4 million dollars in 2022, and 47.1 million dollars in 2023.
The specific weight of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan's imports increased from 1 percent in 2024 to 2.9 percent in 2025. With this, Uzbekistan advanced from 20th place to 9th place among Azerbaijan's main import partners.
