Districts with the lowest and highest birth rates in Azerbaijan - LIST

The districts with the lowest and highest birth rates in Azerbaijan in 2025 have been identified.

According to information obtained by Modern.az from the State Statistical Committee, the lowest indicator across the country was recorded in Absheron district. Here, the birth rate per 1000 people was 5.4 (2,328).

Thus, the next places in the list were taken by Nasimi district (5.5) of Baku city and Ordubad district (5.7).

Among the lowest indicators were also Sumgait city (5.9) and Nakhchivan city (6.4).

In addition, the birth rate per 1000 people was higher than the national average (9.4) in the districts of Yardimli (14.2), Gobustan (14.0), Jalilabad (13.9), Kalbajar (12.9), Khojaly (12.8), Astara (12.6), Lachin and Bilasuvar (12.3), Shamakhi (12.0), Agjabadi, Agdam, Khojavand and Lerik (11.7), Agsu and Barda (11.6), Tovuz, Sabirabad and Salyan (11.5), Goygol, Ujar and Yevlakh (11.3), Fuzuli, Guba and Zardab (11.2), Dashkasan and Kurdamir (11.1), Goranboy and Agstafa (11.0), Samukh, Agdash and Gabala (10.6), Shabran and Saatli (10.5), Ismayilli, Siyazan and Goychay (10.4), Tartar, Shamkir, Khachmaz, Beylagan and Hajigabul (10.3), Imishli and Gubadli (10.1), Jabrayil (10.0), Gazakh (9.9), Gadabay and Oghuz (9.8), Gakh (9.7), Shusha and Masally (9.6) and Gusar (9.5). For other administrative territorial units, this indicator was below the national level.
