Mikhail Evdokimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Azerbaijan, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Modern.az reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released information about this.
During the meeting, the serious concern and strong protest of the Azerbaijani side regarding the provocative, insulting and threatening statements made against the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani people and the country's leadership in the media and information space of the Russian Federation in recent times were brought to the attention of the Russian side.
In particular, attention was drawn to the expressions made against our country, our people and the leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the program broadcast on August 13, 2026, within the framework of the “Chistota ponimaniya” project.
In addition, the nonsense about including the Azerbaijani leadership in “Russia's list of terrorists and extremists” in the program broadcast on “Sputnik” radio on August 7, the broadcast of insulting material against the Azerbaijani leadership on the “YouTube” platform on August 9, and on the “Spas” TV channel on August 16, and the voicing of provocative ideas were recalled.
It was emphasized that discussing the possibilities of interfering in the internal political processes of the Azerbaijani state and making calls of physical violence against the Azerbaijani people and the Azerbaijani leadership are unacceptable.
It was stated that despite the Azerbaijani side's repeated calls to prevent the aforementioned activities and the discussion of the issue at various political levels, the continuation of similar rhetoric in a harsher form causes serious concern.
During the meeting, our expectation for immediate and effective measures to be taken to put an end to the rhetoric of provocation, threat and violence against Azerbaijan in the Russian information and media space was once again brought to the attention of the other side.
