Number of children taking their mother's surname in Azerbaijan ANNOUNCED

In 2025, the number of children registered with their mother's surname by the registration departments of the Ministry of Justice, when their parents had different surnames, was 185.

This information was provided by the Ministry of Justice in response to an inquiry from Modern.az.

It was stated that in the first 3 months of 2026, 42 children were registered with their mother's surname by the registration departments of the Ministry of Justice.
