In 2025, 1412 marriages were dissolved and 20675 divorces were registered in Azerbaijan. Baku city ranked first in terms of both marriage dissolutions and divorces.
According to Modern.az, the issue was reflected in the Information of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Problems of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025, which was discussed at today's meeting of the Family, Women and Children Affairs Committee of the Milli Majlis.
According to the report, 360 marriages were dissolved and 6307 divorces were registered in Baku city in 2025.
The next places in terms of the number of divorces were the Karabakh economic region (1590), Absheron-Khizi economic region (1504), Central Aran economic region (1442), Ganja-Dashkasan economic region (1374) and Lankaran-Astara economic region (1292).
Regarding marriage dissolutions, Lankaran-Astara economic region was second with 223 cases, and Mil-Mughan economic region was third with 171 cases. 122 marriages were dissolved in Absheron-Khizi economic region, 105 in Shirvan-Salyan economic region, and 97 in Central Aran economic region.
It was noted that 15 marriage dissolutions were registered in Shaki-Zagatala economic region, 19 in Gazakh-Tovuz economic region, and 10 in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The report stated that the fewest marriage dissolutions occurred in the East Zangazur economic region. Only 5 such cases were registered in the region last year.
According to the document, 577 divorces were registered in the Mountainous Shirvan economic region, 922 in the Guba-Khachmaz economic region, and 922 in the Shirvan-Salyan economic region in 2025. 889 divorces were formalized in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
