The admission of sub-bachelors to university without exams is not our decision.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the Chairperson of the State Examination Center (SEC), Maleyka Abbaszade, in an interview with “Asan TV”.
M. Abbaszade stated while answering questions that this decision is included in the State Strategy for the Development of Education and was made to expand the opportunities for young people to get an education. This is not an initiative of the State Examination Center.
The SEC chairperson also emphasized that the admission of sub-bachelors to some specialties has not yet been possible:
“There are certain areas where, although sub-bachelors have the legal opportunity to be admitted, this has never happened. For example, no graduate of a medical college has been admitted to Azerbaijan Medical University as a sub-bachelor. Sub-bachelors mainly study in these areas because there are vacant places in private higher education centers in the field of agriculture, as well as in marketing areas in the second group.”
We are discussing this issue with the rectors:
“How much the admission of sub-bachelors to universities without exams is needed, and how much it is not needed, is a subject of discussion. We are discussing this with the heads of higher education centers,” she said.
