Last year, in 7 facilities, the involvement of porcupine and Caucasian grouse meat, included in the “Red Book”, in sale or use was detected, and measures in accordance with legislation were implemented.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Aziz Sharifov, Deputy Chairman of AQTA.
According to him, during the inspections carried out, the presence of DNA belonging to horse and buffalo meat was detected in a number of cases in samples taken from products presented for sale under the name of beef:
"With the aim of deceiving consumers, to create the appearance of “village chicken”, the facts of artificial dyeing of chickens yellow by using synthetic dyes have been prevented.
At the same time, cases of excessive use of flavor enhancers in some products were identified, and appropriate measures were taken. Furthermore, instances of illegal use of game meat were also encountered. Even in 7 facilities, the involvement of porcupine and Caucasian grouse meat, included in the “Red Book”, in sale or use was detected, and measures in accordance with legislation were implemented".
