Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, chairman of the Freedom of Speech Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made a scandalous statement regarding Russian-speaking citizens in the country.
Modern.az reports that the people's deputy stated that he does not accept the concept of Russian-speaking Ukrainians.
In his speech, Yurchyshyn expressed a strong attitude towards those who use the Russian language in the country, saying:
"There is no such concept as Russian-speaking Ukrainians. There are either Russians, or there are Ukrainians whom Russia has drawn into its cultural world and who have consequently become traitors."
The deputy's statement caused a wide resonance in Ukrainian society and social networks, leading to serious discussions.
