Since the start of military operations by Israel and the US against Iran on February 28, 9000 US citizens have been able to leave the Middle East.
Modern.az reports that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated this during his speech at a press conference.
Rubio noted that another 1500 Americans have requested assistance with evacuation.
According to him, the US is considering options to evacuate its citizens via charter, military, and commercial flights.
"In the current situation, we have faced instances where planes are in the air but the airspace is closed, forcing them to return. Flights are also interrupted due to shootings and airport closures. He also noted that US embassies and diplomatic missions are under direct attack from Iran. The personnel of many of them have been evacuated in advance. Some diplomatic missions in the region have also ceased operations.
