Google's former CEO Matt Brittin will be the new Director-General of the BBC.
Modern.az reports that BBC announced this.
57-year-old Brittin previously led Google's business operations for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Early in his career, he worked at the consulting firm "McKinsey" and the media company "Trinity Mirror". He held various positions at Google from 2007 to 2025.
Brittin is a graduate of Cambridge University and a bronze medalist for the Great Britain team at the 1989 World Rowing Championships.
Brittin will start his new role on May 18.
His predecessor Tim Davie announced his resignation last year amid controversies surrounding the distortion of US President Donald Trump's speech.
