The Swiss government has adopted part of the additional restrictions provided for in the European Union's 20th package of sanctions against Russia.
Modern.az reports that the Swiss Federal Council has issued a statement on this.
The new restrictions will come into force on August 20. Servicing of liquefied natural gas terminals, gas carriers and icebreakers located in Russia in the energy sector, as well as the sale of tankers to Russia, will be prohibited.
Contracts for tankers sold to third countries will also be required to include a clause prohibiting their resale to Russia. Part of the restrictions, including the ban on servicing LNG terminals, will come into force on January 1, 2027.
