Iran has offered the US to open the Strait of Hormuz and stop the conflict by postponing nuclear talks until later.
Modern.az reports that the "Axios" portal reported this, citing informed sources.
According to the information, Tehran's new proposal to the US, transmitted through Pakistani mediators, is primarily aimed at resolving the crisis around the strait and the blockade imposed by the US. According to the proposal, after Hormuz is opened and the blockade is lifted, negotiations on the nuclear program should begin at a later stage.
The portal notes that the White House has received this proposal, but it is not yet clear whether the US is ready to consider it.
In turn, one of the sources said that last weekend, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi conveyed to mediators from Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar that there was no unified position within the Iranian leadership on how to respond to US demands.
At the same time, according to "Axios" sources, on Monday, US President Donald Trump will hold an operational meeting with his national security and foreign policy team on the Iran issue.
According to sources, Donald Trump's team will discuss the stalemate in the negotiations and possible next steps.
