Chinese car manufacturers are rapidly strengthening their positions in the European car market.
According to Modern.az, citing foreign media, sales of plug-in hybrid cars imported from China reached a record high in March of this year, increasing by more than 300% compared to the previous year. As a result, these cars accounted for approximately 20% of the hybrid car market in Europe.
For comparison, at the beginning of 2024, the share of Chinese-made hybrid cars in the European Union market was only 2%.
The increase also affected overall sales. Thus, in March, the total sales of Chinese cars in Europe increased by approximately 100% compared to the previous year, reaching a record 140,094 units.
Currently, Chinese cars have a 9.4% share in the European car market. This indicates that the market share has increased by approximately three times in the last two years.
Experts state that Chinese manufacturers not only offer cars at the most affordable prices in the market, but also rapidly approach European brands in terms of technology and equipment.
Against this background, European consumers' interest in Chinese cars is also rapidly increasing.
