Mehdi Taj, head of Iran's Football Federation, demanded guarantees that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and other Iranian institutions would not be "insulted" by the United States when the national team participates in the World Cup.
Modern.az reports that "Reuters" news agency spread information about this.
He stated that "for our trip there, we need a guarantee that they do not have the right to insult the symbols of our system, especially the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps."
We are going to the World Cup for which we qualified, and FIFA is hosting it - not Mr. Trump or America. If they accept us, then they must also accept that they should not insult our military institutions in any way," Taj said.
It should be noted that the USA, Canada, and Mexico will jointly host the World Cup, which will be held from June 11 to July 19. Iran is scheduled to play two group games in Los Angeles and one game in Seattle.
