The Taiwanese parliament has approved a special defense budget of 780 billion Taiwanese dollars (approximately 25 billion US dollars) to strengthen its defense capabilities against possible threats from China.
Modern.az reports, citing Bloomberg, that the funds are planned to be used for the purchase of US-made weapons between 2026 and 2033.
It was stated that within the framework of the budget, the purchase of HIMARS missile systems, M109 howitzers, air defense systems, missile defense complexes, and technologies for combating unmanned aerial vehicles is envisaged.
According to the information, part of the allocated funds will be spent on the creation of the T-Dome air defense system using US technologies.
