According to news citing US intelligence sources, Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei is currently hiding in a secret location for security reasons and communicates with the outside world only through a complex network of messengers.
Modern.az reports that this information was published in the US media.
It was reported that even high-ranking Iranian officials cannot directly contact Khamenei due to such extraordinary security measures, which has slowed down negotiations aimed at stopping the war between the US and Iran.
An unnamed US official said about this: “This is why phrases like “the supreme leader approved the framework” or “we are waiting for a response for the final agreement clauses” are constantly heard in the negotiations. Any information reaching him becomes outdated, and there is a serious delay in his responses.”
In addition, it was claimed that the high-level command staff of the Iranian regime also stayed in shelters for weeks and refrained from communicating with each other due to the risk of detection.
According to another unnamed official, due to this communication breakdown in the Iranian leadership, they are “completely exhausted.”
It should be recalled that Mojtaba Khamenei was seriously injured in an air attack by the US-Israel coalition on February 28. Iranian officials claim that his wounds are healing.
