Russian President Vladimir Putin has raised the question of which markets Armenia will export its agricultural products to if it joins the European Union.
Modern.az reports that Putin stated that the phytosanitary norms applied in the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are stricter than the rules in the European Union.
"Where will these products go? For example, will that wine be sold to Spain, France, Italy, or Portugal? One needs to think about this," the Russian leader noted.
Putin also stated that if Armenia withdraws from the Eurasian Economic Union, Russia will increase the price of energy carriers to that country.
According to him, such a decision will not be without impact on economic relations between the two countries.
