Romanian President Nicușor Dan has appointed Eugen Tomac as prime minister.
Modern.az reports this with reference to "Digi24" TV channel.
The head of state stated that after the parliament sent the government of Prime Minister Ilie Boloja to resignation, the parties in the coalition could not reach an agreement, so he chose an independent candidate. According to Dan, Tomac has the necessary experience and values for this position.
The new prime minister assured that the cabinet will manage the budget responsibly, fulfill its obligations and put the interests of the people at the center of its activities. The source writes that he has 10 days to form the government and get a vote of confidence.
However, according to "Digi24", the National Liberal Party and the Save Romania Union have already stated that they will not support the government if representatives of the Social Democratic Party are included in the cabinet.
