Modern.az reports that this was stated in the information released by the European External Relations Service (EEAS).

The sanctions list includes the command of the IRGC Naval Forces in Hormozgan province, as well as Mohammad Akbarzadeh and Hamid Hosseini.

According to the information, Mohammad Akbarzadeh serves as the deputy commander for political affairs of the IRGC Naval Forces. Hamid Hosseini is a representative of the Union of Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Exporters.

EU officials noted that the sanctions aim to protect the security of international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and ensure the unhindered operation of maritime transport.
