The "Prosperous Armenia" Party, led by Gagik Tsarukyan, failed to overcome the electoral threshold in the parliamentary elections.

Modern.az reports that this information was published by the Armenian newspaper "Hraparak".

According to the publication, immediately after the elections, the authorities offered Tsarukyan a deal. According to the plan, the party was to become the "pocket opposition" of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in parliament and, when necessary, for example, during constitutional changes, provide the authorities with the necessary majority of votes (in a 3/5 ratio).

However, Gagik Tsarukyan firmly rejected this offer. Immediately after this refusal, the Central Election Commission announced that the party had failed to cross the parliamentary barrier. Allegedly, the party lacked only 60 votes to avoid being left out of parliament.

The party's press secretary, Iveta Tonoyan, called such a calculation of votes "strange arithmetic."

It should be recalled that if the party had crossed the 4% threshold required for entry into parliament, it would have had 5 parliamentary seats.
