The European Commission has included Algeria's “Air Express Algeria” airline in the European Union's air safety blacklist. The institution stated that the company has serious problems with air transport safety.

Modern.az reports with reference to “Al-Jazeera” that with this, the company is prohibited from operating and carrying out flights in the airspace of the European Union member countries.

The European Commission's statement said that the decision was made after serious problems in the field of aviation safety and shortcomings related to compliance with international safety standards were discovered as a result of the evaluations carried out. The decision did not provide additional information about the nature of the violations and the measures required to lift the ban.

“Air Express Algeria” company has not yet commented on the European Commission's decision.

It should be noted that the European Union Air Safety List has been in force since 2006 and provides for restrictions on the activities of airlines that do not meet international safety standards. The list is regularly updated and formed on the basis of technical evaluation of the activities of airlines, as well as civil aviation authorities of various countries.

At the same time, the European Commission announced that it has removed all certified airlines in Kyrgyzstan from the blacklist, taking into account the improvement of their safety performance.

Founded in 2002, “Air Express Algeria” mainly serves Algeria's oil and gas sector. The company operates in the fields of personnel transportation, medical evacuation, VIP flights and light cargo transportation.
