The US side believes that its combat helicopter crashed near the Strait of Hormuz after being shot down by an Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). US investigators do not yet know whether Iranian forces deliberately tried to shoot down the helicopter.
Modern.az reports that this claim was made by Barak Ravid, a correspondent for the US "Axios" portal and Israel's "Channel 13", on the "X" social network.
"According to a US official, during the investigation, it was determined that an Iranian UAV shot down a US helicopter, which caused the crash. The American official stated that the investigation has not yet been able to determine whether this happened intentionally or accidentally," he noted.
US President Donald Trump stated on "TruthSocial" that an "AH-64 Apache" helicopter was shot down by Iranian forces over the Strait of Hormuz.
