Hungary's new Prime Minister Peter Madyar wants to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Modern.az reports that the Prime Minister stated this in an interview with Hungarian ATV channel.
He said that the reason for this is to strengthen the agreement on the restoration of the rights of the Hungarian national minority in the Transcarpathian region.
The head of government believes that the city of Berehove in Ukraine's Transcarpathian region, where ethnic Hungarians live, is a suitable place for negotiations between them.
Madyar reminded that on June 3, diplomats from the two countries reached an agreement on the restoration of the rights of Transcarpathian Hungarians by the Ukrainian authorities.
"This agreement is currently at an expert level, so it needs to be politically strengthened," he said.
