Today, 4 Israeli soldiers were killed in Lebanon.
Modern.az reports that the press service of the Israel Defense Forces issued a statement about this.
Currently, only one of the killed soldiers has been identified.
According to the information, 33-year-old reserve lieutenant colonel Dor Gedalia Ben-Simon was killed in southern Lebanon as a result of a tank explosion. He is a resident of Kibbutz Beit Ha-Shita and commanded the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade.
The Israeli army stated that after the incident, the families of three soldiers were informed. A few hours later, five more soldiers were wounded in similar circumstances in the same area. One of them, a reserve officer, was seriously injured.
According to another report by the Israeli army, 34 soldiers have been killed since the start of Operation "Lion's Dream", 22 of whom were recorded after April 16. A total of 961 soldiers have lost their lives since October 7.
On the other hand, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that at least 18 people were killed and 33 were injured as a result of the Israel Defense Forces' strikes on several villages in the south of the country.
The ministry's statement said that the number of both dead and injured as a result of the attacks is being clarified, and some of the injured are in serious condition.
It should be noted that Israel's attacks on Lebanon seriously hinder the memorandum signed between the US and Iran and the peace process. Thus, US and Iranian representatives were supposed to meet today in Geneva, the capital of Switzerland. However, US Vice President JD Vance did not come to Geneva. The reason for his step was precisely Israel's attacks against Lebanon. Because Iran demanded guarantees for the cessation of military operations in Lebanon before the resumption of talks with the US in Switzerland. After Israel's strikes on Lebanon, the planned talks were temporarily postponed. When the talks will resume has not yet been announced.
