The funeral ceremony of Iran's former supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, has concluded in his hometown of Mashhad.
Modern.az reports with reference to TASS that his p was buried in the Imam Reza shrine - where Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash two years ago, was also buried.
Due to the large number of people wishing to bid farewell to Khamenei, the organizers of the mourning procession were forced to change the route to the shrine. Since the funeral procession carrying the leader's p could not move to the shrine, a helicopter was used.
In the area of the tomb, prayers were offered for Khamenei and his family members who died with him, with the participation of hundreds of thousands of pilgrims. Later, an official funeral ceremony was held, to which journalists were not admitted.
It should be recalled that the farewell ceremony for Ali Khamenei, who died as a result of US and Israeli strikes on February 28, began in Tehran on July 3.
